ROYAL COMMISSION FOR ALULA

One of the explorations from a year-long brand-building exercise for the Royal Commission for AlUla, where the government’s ambition is distilled into a form that speaks to governance and for the city.

  • The Royal Commission for AlUla required a brand that signals their milestone shift from a start-up brand to an established brand ecosystem.

Our main objective was to reflect their growth and replace a fragmented group of independently created logos and identities with a unified brand system.

Working closely with stakeholders, leadership, and the local community over the course of a year, the project explored how heritage, governance, culture, and future development could coexist within a single, coherent framework. Our process included community engagement, on-site research, and multiple strategic narratives to test alignment across different audiences and mandates.

The work resulted in a comprehensive brand architecture designed to clarify when initiatives should exist as standalone brands and when they should operate under a shared umbrella, supported by a scalable visual system and clear criteria for long-term growth.

This preview presents a portion of that work, focusing on one of the identity studies and visual system developed as part of the broader exploration.
